The supplied website code does not set cookies, create user accounts, accept payments, collect precise location, run advertising tags or submit personal data. It contains no analytics SDK. A hosting provider may still process standard server logs such as an IP address, requested page, timestamp and browser information for security and delivery; the publisher must describe the chosen host’s actual practice before launch.

Articles link to museums, research libraries and publications. Following a link takes you to another organisation whose privacy practices and terms apply. Those sites are not loaded in hidden frames and receive no information from this site before a reader chooses the link.
If the publisher activates a contact email, messages will contain the information the sender chooses to provide. Before launch, the publisher must state who receives that mail, why it is retained, for how long and how a sender can request deletion where applicable.
Cookies and local storage
This edition uses neither cookies nor browser local storage, so it does not display a consent banner. If analytics, embedded media, advertising or preference storage is later added, this policy and the interface must be updated before deployment.
